Remarkable capacity to enhance skin moisture

It has been shown that Ovoderm® has the capacity to restore the skin barrier function by effectively reducing transepidermal water loss. Furthermore, both in vitro and in vivo studies have also proven how Ovoderm® stimulates the fibroblasts (skin cells) to increase the production of both collagen, elastin, and HA. HA is naturally present in eggshell membranes and is considered a key molecule in the skin thanks to its astonishing capacity to retain water. Reduction of skin water loss leaves the skin more plumped reducing the appearance of dry lines. (3)

Clinically proven capacity to fight the main signs of skin ageing

While collagen and elastin fibers in our skin at a young age are plentiful, it rapidly breaks down with natural ageing, leaving our skin less plumped and firm. Ovoderm® contributes to normalization of skin collagen content. The composition of Ovoderm® works by boosting the endogenous collagen production, while inhibiting the activity of the enzymes involved in the degradation of collagen and elastin. This mechanism of action results in enhanced skin elasticity and smoothness and reduction of skin wrinkling. (2,3)

Fights hyperpigmentation and protects against oxidative stress. 

The ability of Ovoderm® to influence the melanin production by inhibiting the activity of the tyrosinase enzyme, helps to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and age spots providing a more even skin tone. Furthermore, In vivo studies have shown that Ovoderm® has the capacity to restore the expression levels of the antioxidant enzyme SOD1, which is reduced after UVB-irradiation. SOD1 protects against oxidative damage of the cells by neutralizing free radicals. 

Outstanding antioxidant capacity and reduction of oxidative stress driven inflammation

In vivo studies have shown great antioxidant capacity in Ovoderm®, as the product is able to restore the expression levels of the antioxidant enzyme SOD1, which is decreased by UVB-radiation. which can neutralize free radicals. The increased SOD1 production contributes to reduction of oxidative stress driven inflammation induced by UVB-radiation. (1)
